But you would find it unbelievable that the snack that is now the favorites of almost all Indians does not belong to Indian cuisine. Actually, the snack that is talked about in this blog belonged to South Asia in early times, and it travelled to India centuries ago. The fillings are meatier and spicier with the addition of mince and onion. This is basically a traditional snack, and is now one of the favorites in all households.

In India, this is a snack that is deep fried in oil and has the shape of a triangle. It has potato filling inside which is boiled and smashed well. The mash of potatoes has all the tasty ingredients and is filled inside to make it tastier.

This is a snack that is commonly eaten with tea and may be even eaten as mid-morning snack. This snack is mainly prepared by making dough of flour that is either wheat or Maida. The making of samosa recipe is quite simple.

 It has to be rolled like small chapattis, cut into semi-circles, and then the potato filling is filled into it and given the shape of a triangle. It can be fried or even baked in an oven. Each fried samosa can have as many as 262 calories, while a baked samosa can have 100 calories. Although baked samosa seems to be a healthier choice, it cannot beat the taste of the fried version.

It is said that samosa is one of the oldest and the cheapest snacks in India. Hence, it can be afforded by economically average and below average people too. It has a unique shape which itself makes it a wonderful takeaway snack. You can have it with chutney and enjoy it even while walking on the streets.
