Dhokla is the sunshine of Gujarati recipes. The Moong Dal Dhokla is stands there for one of the amazing snack recipe. It is prepare by moong dal, curry leaves & baking soda. It is ideal when you have it with hot tea. When you have it with onions & green chillies, it turns out to be the perfect snack for those who are into diet & in the search for low calories food items.
Ingredients for Moong Dal Dhokla:
moong dal-1 cup
Well sliced green chilli-3
powdered baking soda-1 1/2 tsp
mustard seeds-one tsp
powdered salt-one tsp
sliced garlic-2
ginger-1 piece
curry leaves-5
For Garnishing:
handful sliced coriander leaves-1
How to prepare Moong Dal Dhokla:
Step 1) Soak moong dal for like two hrs. Now grind it in mixer. Drop salt, ginger, green chillies & garlic’s crushed pieces in the mix. Stir finely & see that the components are added well.
Step 2) Next take the dhokla vessel (a special dhokla cooker which cooks idlis, dhokla, etc.) & place a tbsp of mix in little plate. Place it finely on every sides & spray a little bit of red chilli powder onto it.
Step 3) In another plate do the similar procedure. Place the 2 plates in dhokla vessel post including water to vessel. Don't forget to pour oil on plates before you spread mix. Cover the vessel & wait for around five to seven mins.
Step 4) Open the lid & place the mixture with spoon to check if its cooked. If it's there then detach the plate from vessel & cut dhokla in diagonal pieces.
Step 5) Once you have removed the vessels & prepared the dhokla pieces, take a tiny kadai & pour little oil on it. Drop curry leaves, mustard seeds & add the dhokla pieces into it.
Step 6) Post the tadka, spray some coriander leaves onto it, & distribute the dhokla hot with kadhi or chutney.
